Key Contributors to Upland's Success

I started Upland solo but four people helped significantly over the years:

2002–2003: Eric Davies, co-founder and CEO of Davis Murphy Group, now part of Lewis PR, generously invited me to work out of his company's Lexington offices for as long as I needed. We’d met as colleagues at Open Market (a software company).

2003–2006: Tim Rowe, co-founder and CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), introduced me to CIC-based companies when I moved Upland there. Four became clients. Tim and I had met as college classmates. He also introduced me to Andy Olmsted.

2004–2006: Andy Olmsted, a co-founder of CIC , helped me with business development for two years until Upland's momentum became self-sustaining. He also contributed to audio production, applying his recording experience as a musician.

2005–2011: John Dalton contributed to field production and editing, and also sometimes helped pitch. We met as analysts at Forrester Research before I left to start Upland. Eighteen months later, John left, too, and joined Upland shortly thereafter.
